WORSHIP JANUARY 17TH AT 9:30 AM OR THEREAFTER
Jesus doesn't call us to sit on the sidelines in life, but rather to be part of making our communities and world a place where peace, justice, and compassion toward one another abound. What a relevant message! Enjoy this worship service with Pastors Rev. Elaine Wing and Rev. Dr. Carolyn Thomas along with our music ministry teams. The service is posted at 9:30 AM on Sunday and it, and other services, can be accessed in our worship archives at any time. https://youtu.be/zV1-p_-Y_fM

WORSHIP
We worship every Sunday at 10:00 AM. Dress is casual. The worship service is informal, interactive, and designed to be meaningful for persons who are new to worship, exploring questions about God, or more comfortable in their faith walk. We start off with a diversity of music genres to wake us up and center us before moving into a Biblically grounded and relevant message that intersects with contemporary issues, concerns or joys in life.
On The Wings, a fabulous new Praise Band, joins us once a month. Other Sundays we're led in music by our choir and Music Director Ace LiPuma. Music is vital to our worship because it moves us closer to the Holy One differently than the spoken word or visuals.
Children and Youth are an important part of Calvary UMC! We've just begun "J.A.M." a new program that kicks off the morning with high energy fun for kids ages 4-12 yrs. The kids then head into one of two age level classes while the adults continue to worship. Our junior and senior high youth are encouraged to help in JAM by taking pictures or videos or assisting the teachers. Younger children can stay with their parents in the "toddler's corner" of the sanctuary where we provide quiet toys! :)
The first Sunday of the month is generally our Intergenerational Worship Service where ALL AGES stay together in the Sanctuary for a lively worship service. Kids and youth are invited to take an active role in this service by greeting, ushering, reading, participating in the interactive sermon, singing or playing an instrument, or assisting with the audio-visual elements.
Holy Communion is offered to all ages and persons on the first Sunday of every month.
We realize that not everyone can get to worship every Sunday due to work or family conflicts so we distribute the sermon by email or postal mail the following week. Our service is shared via Facebook Live to watch live or later. Contact us if you'd like the sermons!

OUR CHURCH
We are an imperfect group of people who strive to authentically live out our faith and belief in a loving and just God. Calvary UMC has earned a reputation as a "church for the community." We feel it is important to serve our community and to "be" God's love in action.
We host two Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, four blood drives a year, a Bike Rodeo and Picnic, Halloween Party, Holy Week for Kids, a Cinco de Mayo Fiesta, Scout Troops, Dinner-Concerts, a monthly dinner for 80-100 people with developmental disabilities and mental illness, Bible studies and special worship/educational series to bring God's word of hope to people in our area. We also place a priority on interfaith and ecumenical work, so you'll often find Calvary hosts events that celebrate our religious commonalities and diversity, or that bring folks together for mission.
Calvary has an active congregation of 100+ people of many backgrounds, interests, and ages. We prioritize ministries that strengthen our individual and communal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
